ABOUT ME
Katlin "Kat" Z. is a percussionist, media composer, occasional podcast audio editor, and founder of Ruby Katz Music. Starting out as a percussionist in Texas, since the age of 11, she has found music to be her greatest comfort, joy, and ultimately her life's passion. After high school, she began studying music performance at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. From there, she transferred over to Berklee College of Music where she pursed and finished her Undergraduate Degree in Music Composition for Film, TV, and Video Games. There, she has studied under the likes of top of the line professors such as: Vicente Avella, Michael Sweet, Jonathan Feist, Beth Denisch, Gabriele Vanoni, Jeff Baust, and many others. Aside from being inspired by media composers such as: Bear McCreary, James Newton Howard, and John Williams, her biggest musical influences stem from 20th Century composers like Claude Debussy and Gustav Holst. She is also heavily influenced by her favorite composer: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
